Haskell Semi Final v Rookery Park

At Hintlesham 2nd Sept

Today's Haskell Semi Final was held at Hintlesham GC against Rookery GC.
There was nothing in it after the morning round with the match finishing all square.
The afternoon started the same way but Rookery got the breaks and Lils and Sam however hard they tried couldn't get it back.
It was very tight all day and both pairs played some superb golf.
Thanks to the caddies Belinda & Tony, all our supporters that travelled to support through the day, including Ladies President Jan, Lady Captain Heather, Captain Steve and team mascot Barney.
Lils and Sam would like to thank everyone that have supported them in all the matches home and away, and a special thank you to Captain Jo, we will do it for you.....#TeamBungay

Parks Semi Final against Thorpeness

Weds 29th August at Southwold GC

Unfortunately we lost by 17 holes to Thorpeness in the semi final of the Parks Trophy today at Southwold. Although Bungay played well it was not good enough against a very strong Thorpeness side that played magnificently throughout. The golf was good to watch and I would like to thank the many Bungay club members who came along to support the team in spite of the wet weather which prevailed for most of the match.

It has been a pleasure and an honour to captain the Parks Team this year and to have such a good run in the competition. All the team members gave of their best and all matches were played in good humour and with a great team spirit.

The team today was: Nick Owles and Barry Ford; Paul Whiting and Colin Block; John Eason and Steve Rowe and Tony Moore and Russell Dyer. I would like to not only thank these eight but also several others who have played in previous rounds- David McGreggor, James Gardiner, Peter Revell and Mick Bond. Also a thanks to Simon Jamieson for being our unused super sub and who has provided some excellent advice along the way.

Bill Carson (captain)

What an epic battle on one of the finest Links Courses in the Country.

It all came down to the last match on the course, which we unfortunately lost on the 35 holes having come back from 5 down.

Haskell Win

Congratulations to our Haskell Team of Lils James and Sam Cooper, who beat Sharon Luckman and Lottie Whyman in the 1/4 final of the 36 hole scratch foursomes.

The semi final will be at Hintlesham Golf Club on Sunday 2nd September against Rookery Park.

Parks beat Fynn Valley

Round 3 Monday 23rd July

We had a fantastic win at home against Fynn Valley today in the third round of the Parks Trophy. The result was in doubt until the last few holes, with the lead changing regularly. We won the match by 4 holes in the end which was particularly pleasing as we lost by one hole at their course several years ago. A great team spirit was evident and this worked in our favour throughout the match.
Thanks to all our supporters, including the club president, men’s captain and vice captain as well as several reserve team members. A wonderful cold buffet was served after the match and as usual a good bit of praise was passed on to Roger and his team.
We now play the semi-final against Gorleston or Thorpeness on a neutral venue on 29th August.
